Bring The Glamping Spirit Into Your Garden This Autumn
We have looked at ideas on how to bring the glamping spirit into your home, so now we turn your attention to your outside space …
As for your outside space, there are many ways you can turn it into a glamping haven with all your home comforts. If you don’t already have a fire pit or chiminea now is the time to get one. This allows you to create a campfire atmosphere at home, and you can invite friends and family over to socialise and spend time together outdoors, especially if you’re not permitted to have people inside your home.
Some decent camping chairs are a must, although if you already have garden furniture you can simply use this for seating. Add a pile of blankets for comfort and warmth, together with some outside lighting (either solar powered fairy lights or lanterns) and you’ve got a bit of glamping magic right outside your back door.
If you really love spending time outdoors why not build a sheltered area so you can enjoy the fresh air and a fire even if it’s raining? This is a great DIY project to keep you busy and it gives you some useable outdoor space for all weathers. In the summer it will provide a shaded space, while in the winter it’ll keep the rain off, making it a worthwhile project for any garden. You can even incorporate climbing plants into the structure so it will blend in and become a natural looking feature of your garden.
For the serious glamping enthusiast it makes sense to invest in a bell tent with a log burner. There are a few models out there, so have a look at what’s available and what suits your family and lifestyle (and what fits in your garden!) and go from there. There are also companies that hire out bell tents for events, so you don’t need to buy one if your budget won’t stretch that far. The beauty of having a bell tent with a log burner is that you can glamp all year round at any site that’s open, or in your own garden. The log burner will keep you toasty and provide the hot water for hot water bottles and hot drinks; it also helps create that authentic glamping experience.
There are lots more ways you can bring the spirit of glamping inside your home and garden, including playing the games you play on holiday at home, and having some of those special treats reserved for holidays in the comfort of your own surroundings. You might even spend an evening talking about your favourite glamping holidays and planning the next one, the sky is the limit.
