Gift Vouchers for Christmas? Put Them Towards Glamping Gear
The high street has suffered a lot this year, and with online shopping being the only viable option for many people, we may find we get more gift vouchers this year than ever before. Gift vouchers and cards are an easy gift to order online and there’s no need to have anything delivered to the house – most gift cards now are e-vouchers which you can print off or email to the recipient.
If we’re going to get more gift vouchers and cash this year than physical gifts we face quite the dilemma when it comes to how to spend them. So why not use them to upgrade your glamping gear or to buy things you’d love to own for glamping and camping but haven’t been able to afford? With seasonal sales expected to include some real bargains as the retail sector tries to get up and running again we could be in for a great sales haul.
If you have gift vouchers for clothing stores, why not stock up on base layers and comfy socks for an early spring getaway, or invest in a really good winter jacket that will serve you well on long walks and glamping breaks alike? Homeware stores sell all sorts of things that can be used for glamping, such as mud trapping doormats that roll up into a compact size that can be used for keeping your bell tent mud-free inside. Plates, cutlery and cooking equipment is all great for glamping, as well as cooking outdoors at home – buy some robust cooking pots and pans you can use on a fire pit or open fire and you’ll be cooking up a storm wherever you are.
For a luxury touch on your glamping holiday things like cocktail shakers and glasses are perfect, and these can be picked up quite cheaply in the sales. Warm blankets and throws also help create that luxury atmosphere – you might find you want to use your new purchases straight away, so why not have an indoor glamping evening where you turn off all screens and imagine you’re in the wilderness. The dark evenings help create that ambience and if you need a bit of a boost in January, a home glamping weekend might be just the thing you need.
If you get gift vouchers for online shops like Amazon then the world is your oyster. A glampers delight is finding a single site that sells a vast variety and range of stock. With products ranging from tents to enamel mugs you can find everything you need for a fantastic glamping holiday. If you want to glamp on a budget then buying luxurious things such as sheepskin throws, solar powered strings of lights/lanterns and cosy quilts all work to elevate a camping holiday into a glamping holiday.
If you find sleeping bags difficult to work with (they can be hard for those of us to sprawl out over the whole bed!) then sleep suits, such as the Selkbag, are the answer. Almost like a ski-suit, these full body sleep suits have detachable foot portions so you can stay snuggly in your sleep suit while you get the fire going. These are also great for night time toilet dashes as you don’t have to get out of the warmth, find your coat in the dark and get chilled to the bone on the way back. They’re also ideal for kids, so if you find yourself with an Amazon gift card this is a fantastic investment and can also be used for sleepovers, early morning car journeys and even just to wear on a particularly cold day.
So, on Christmas morning when you find yourself with gift cards to spend, why not buy some glamping gear and look forward to using it in 2021.
