‘Twas the Night Before Glamping…
The night before Christmas is one of excitement and anticipation, just like the night before a holiday. With this in mind we bring you our take on the classic festive poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.
‘Twas the night before glamping, when all through the house
Every creature was packing, even the mouse!
The sleeping bags were packed, and our camping chairs
And all were excited that we’d soon be there
The children were excited, they won’t go to bed
While visions of campfires danced in their heads
The packing was finished, don’t need to take much
We’re going glamping, for that special touch
Then in the garage there arose such a clatter
I leapt out of my chair to see what was the matter
Away to the driveway I was there in a flash
Flung open the door and heard a second crash
My partner was there, in the car bags were going
And pots and pans fell in the toing and froing
We’re packing for glamping and cooking outdoors
No ransacking the kitchen, all cupboards, all drawers
With the car packed and ready we’re all set to go
Just one sleep left before we’re off, tally-ho!
We’re heading to the countryside, the peace and the quiet
But in the house now the kids are causing a riot
“Now children”, we say, with some consternation
“Get to bed now, in the morning we’ll awaken
Our glampsite’s not far, just a couple of hours
And when we get there we’ll go picking wild flowers”
With the promise of fun and countryside frolics
The kids soon are sleeping, and we have some Horlicks
Well rested, we rise and munch on some toast
We stop on the way for marshmallows to roast
We’re here at the glampsite and what a great place
The yurt is quite glorious; it puts a smile on my face
So tall and enormous, surprisingly spacious
The kids are already exploring, being audacious
The log burner’s safely inside a metal cage
That’s one for the grown-ups, with the wisdom of age
We settle straight in, unpacking all done
Ah, fuss free glamping, it’s certainly is fun
We go for a walk and gather some flowers
This is such bliss; we could do it for hours
Before long its lunchtime, we light up the fire
Doing it well is a skill I admire
With food in our bellies and a great sense of calm
We start singing song and telling some yarns
We’re sat round the fire and cuddled together
I couldn’t imagine a day spent much better
With the campfire still roaring our supper we make
Burger, baked spuds and marshmallows we bake
We grab all our blankets and get nice and cosy
All our faces are glowing, our cheeks are so rosy
It’s soon time for bed and we traipse indoors
The log burner’s roaring and warming for sure
The beds are so comfy we’re soon off to sleep
With kids dreaming sweetly, not even a peep
Tomorrow awaits, with that holiday feeling
And waking to canvas, not our old bedroom ceiling
Makes glamping so special and fun for us all
We’ll keep coming back; we have such a ball!
Merry Christmas from all of us at The Glamping Warehouse.
